Walking Mad / Mountain Call / Unanswered Question
Three creators, three topics, three different movement manuscripts. Human relationships, basic questions of human existence, and question marks over one’s own identity. Questions that are very hard to answer nowadays.
Che choreographer, Dan Datcu, in an original piece Mountain Call – set to the music by the Balanescu String Quartet – draws on different perspectives on folklore in a contemporary context, focusing on the topics of human existence defined as “birth,” “marriage,” and “life and death.” Mário Radačovský’s latest choreography for NdB Ballet, Unanswered Question, reflects on the state of perception of today’s society and individuals on the currently frequent issue of the search for gender identity and the traditional view of the status of men and women. It asks whether the freedom of individual self-determination and the tolerance of the majority society has any clearer boundaries. The evening will conclude with Walking Mad, choreographed by Johan Inger to the music of Ravel’s Bolero
