About the festival

DANCE BRNO 2023

DANCE BRNO 2023 is a dance festival focused on the presentation and creation of professional ballet companies from Czech and Slovak theater houses. The unique project will present the artistic and interpretive level of the Czech professional ballet scene in the form of a show in one place during one week. Festival Dance Brno counts on the scope of the program in the number of 7 performances in the buildings of the National Theater Brno – Mahen´s and Janáček´s Theaters. This means performances of almost the entire Czech and Slovak professional ballet scene. The dramaturgy of the festival focuses mainly on original work, progressive repertoire titles and choreography by important European and world choreographers with an extraordinary level of solo or ensemble interpretation.

The main organizer of the DANCE BRNO 2023 Festival is the Ballet of the National Theatre Brno with the financial support of the Statutory City of Brno, the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and the South Moravian Region.
